First Aid for Minor Burns
Stay prepared with the Ouch Pouch Burn Soothe Sachet – now available individually!
As Autumn arrives and we gear up for Bonfire Night, Halloween, and cosy evenings around the fire, it’s also the time of year when minor burns and scalds become more common – especially for curious little ones. Whether it’s a sparkler, a candle, or a hot cup of cocoa gone wrong, accidents can happen in seconds.
That’s why being prepared with the right first aid for burns is so important. At Ouch Pouch, we’ve made it easier than ever to care for small burns safely and quickly. Our Burn Soothe Sachets are now available to buy individually, and they fit perfectly inside your Little Ouch Pouch: so you’re always ready to handle those unexpected moments.
Burn gels are great to have for those moments when running cool water over a burn just isn’t possible. For playground trips, when you’re out in the woods, on a long car trip without access to clean running water or possibly trick or treating!
How to treat a minor burn
If you or your child suffers a small burn or scald, follow these simple first aid steps for burns:
- Cool the burn immediately.
Hold the affected area under cool running water for at least 20 minutes. This helps stop the burning process, reduce pain, and prevent further skin damage. - Apply Burn Soothe Gel.
Once the area has cooled, gently apply an Ouch Pouch Burn Soothe Sachet directly to the skin. Our burn gel is specially formulated to:
Instantly cool and soothe the burn
Relieve pain and discomfort
Reduce redness
Help protect against infection
- Cover if needed.
If needed, loosely cover the burn with a sterile, non-stick dressing or cling film to protect it from dirt or friction. - Monitor and comfort
Keep an eye on the burn. If blisters form, or if the burn is on the face, hands, feet, genitals, or joints, or larger than a 50pcoin, seek medical advice promptly.

Fireworks Safety for Children
Bonfire Night and fireworks displays are magical for children, but they can also pose risks if we’re not careful. Here are a few quick fireworks safety tips:
Keep a safe distance from open flames and fireworks.
Always supervise children holding sparklers. A great hack is using a carrot to hold the sparkler – keeping small hands that bit further away.
Have a bucket of water nearby for used sparklers and emergencies.
Keep your Little Ouch Pouch close at hand — just in case!

They are standard in our original Ouch Pouch and now you can top up, grab some extras for the house, or level up your Little Ouch.
